🎶 Cuz we are living in a digital world & I am a digital girl 🎶
Have I mentioned how much I love being alive right now? I can get live updates from Ariana Grande in the same feed that I can see my friend’s new shoes. I can find out what film that actor I really recognise was in, and how many awards he won for the role in seconds. I can literally type in one line of a song I heard one time in a shop somewhere and find out the artist, song and when their next gig is. But as I’m sure many of you are all to familiar with, the online life comes at a price.
Things can sometimes get a little overwhelming, so in honor of spring & new beginnings, why not take the opportunity to hit refresh?
1. Unfollow Spree.
Pick each of your social channels and get rid of the ‘noise’. If it doesn’t inspire, teach or uplift you, unfollow or unfriend.
2. Turn Off Phone Notifications.
This may come as a surprise, but the only push notifications I have on my phone are for WhatsApp, Twitter & Instagram (though I might switch Insta off). There’s never anything that comes through the other apps for me that require my attention particularly urgently, and it’s stopped me checking my phone every few seconds.
3. Clear Out The Photos On Your Phone.
Definitely one for the bloggers out there – anyone else seem to accumulate approx 50 million photos of a lipstick from different angles? If you have a smartphone, chances are it’s backed up to a cloud somewhere anyway.
4. Uninstall Unused Apps.
It’s amazing how many apps you install because they seem like a good idea, then you just never use them. Save your valuable memory, because that Kim K game ain’t gonna play itself..
5. Organise Your ‘Documents’ Folder.
If you’re feeling particularly ambitious, categorise + rename them. You’ll be able to find files more easily when you need them, plus you’ll feel like a new person afterwards.
6. Clear Out Your ‘Downloads’ Folder.
This is where all sorts of junk seems to end up for me.
7. Tidy Your Bookmarks.
I’m constantly ‘saving this for later’, and then never revisiting it. Recipies, products, articles I found interesting but don’t know what to do with them…
8. Reorganise Your Cables.
Anyone else have a drawer for tech-related stuff that just ends up being a tangled spaghetti wire mess? Pinterest (as always) has some great solutions!
