For me, very few things come close to the excitement of going to an airport. I don’t even have to be the one jetting off, just dropping someone off conjures up the promise of travel. I just find it somewhat comforting that just beyond the vast glass structures (airport architecture seems to be pretty standard the world over) lies a gateway to wherever your heart desires. Unless it’s the Moon. For now anyway.
When it comes to airport attire, my usual get-up aims to strike that tricky balance between ‘stylishly smart’ and ‘comfy enough to sit on a plane for a few hours’. Also as I’ve learnt the hard way, it’s best to keep accessories to a minimum and opt for slip-on footwear, for the sake of a fuss-free security check!
So far I’ve tended to opt for no-crease, chiffony fabrics like this printed shirt, however I always find I get cold on planes, which required me to layer up big time. Enter this piece from Zara; fashioned in a cosy jersey material, this tunic-type dress ticks all my boxes. I especially love the added bonus of the roll-neck, forgoing the need to carry a scarf.
I usually skip makeup when flying and instead slap on the moisturiser by the bucketload (because who likes that icky dehydrated feeling?), but here I tried something a little different with my makeup. What do you guys think?
With all that being said, I’m actually heading to the airport tonight for another adventure, and as per usual I’m beside myself with excitement. Without revealing where I’m travelling to, I really have to reign in my kid-in-a-candy-shop tendencies as I really must get some sleep on the flight due to time differences.
Of course I’ll be snapchatting it all, grab my details below:
Do you love the airport experience as much as I do? What’s your go-to attire?
